It's Nice to Meet You!

Hope Counselling and Support is a family run practice with both male and female counsellors. We offer Counselling support in a wide range of areas and believe in the benefits that talking therapies can bring to a persons current situation and a hope for the future.

We offer a free, no obligation assessment which will help you decide if we are right for you and in the event that we cannot offer a service for your needs we will endeavour to point you in the right direction whilst giving you some free Psychological educative materials to take away with you.

Where Are We?

Hope Counselling and Support is located in the village of Cockerton in Darlington.

Situated close to the town centre and the A1 motorway it offers convenient access via all forms of transport including local bus routes.

Free car parking is readily available within a few metres of the premises allowing clients to plan their journey to and from sessions without the added stress of parking restrictions.

Whats the Venue Like?

Inside the building clients can expect to find a warm, welcoming and helpful service with wheelchair access and stair lift in place to help those who find stairs daunting or outright impossible.

Here at ‘Hope‘ we believe in equal opportunities and strive to provide a counselling service that upholds the right of individuals to access Psychological Therapy’s.

The counselling room is located on the first floor with a comfortable waiting area for friends and relatives, whilst downstairs there is space to store pushbikes, prams and wheelchairs etc. We also believe in the power of a nice ‘cuppa‘ too and free refreshments are available for all clients and waiting companions.

Our Success Stories

Hope Counselling has literally helped to save my marriage.
I thought there was no hope & that I would never think straight again let alone be happy! However that wasn’t true , I needed support throughout my journey to understand my husband, see things from his perspective, forgive & use methods to help me forward with my marriage.
Sam was there for me 24/7 and in my darkest hours she had the ability to help me see sense &  calm me down to help me think rationally .
She was never judgemental or critical , she could always help me flip my negative thoughts into hopeful ones.
I always felt comfortable and never had any difficulties in opening up, I felt so much better after each session & before I knew it I didn’t need anymore.
I became more than able to apply the coping strategies that Sam taught me when I needed them. I am able to take a step back and think through whether my feelings are leading me down a destructive path.
Taking the time to think things through enables me to make good decisions.
I am more than able to control my thoughts & feelings in a much more positive way thanks to Sam.
I highly recommend her to anyone without a second thought.

Life is difficult and it’s OK to need help , it’s OK to stop and think about what is happening to us and how we can handle it without it having a negative effect on us.
